National Merit Commended Scholar is a recognition awarded by the National Merit Scholarship Program to high school students in the United States who score in approximately the top 3–4% nationally on the PSAT/NMSQT. While it is below Semifinalist and Finalist status, it still signifies strong academic performance at the national level.
