National Olympiad in Informatics (NOI) | in Provinces (NOIP)
NOI (National Olympiad in Informatics) and NOIP (National Olympiad in Informatics in Provinces) are two major levels of China’s high school computer science competition system, organized by the China Computer Federation (CCF).
NOIP is the provincial-level informatics competition and serves as the main entry point for students. It focuses on algorithmic problem-solving and programming skills. High-performing students in NOIP are selected to advance to higher levels of competition.
NOI is the highest national-level informatics competition in China. It brings together the top students from across the country and serves as the primary selection stage for the Chinese National Team for the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI).
Significance
NOIP acts as the foundational selection stage, while NOI represents the elite national competition. Together, they form a structured pathway for identifying and training China’s strongest high school programmers.
